There is one thing I do every single year before I even think about back-to-school shopping — and it saves me time, money, and my sanity. It’s a full Back to School Stock Take, and today I’m doing it with you.
Whether you’ve got one child or four like me, this simple routine will help you avoid doubling up, spot what actually needs buying, and feel like you’re winning at the new school year before it’s even started.

Free Back To School Checklist
Before I even think about shopping for school supplies, I always do a full Back to School Stock Take — and now you can do it with me using the free printable checklist I created to make the whole process easier. This step helps you see what you’ve already got, what still fits, and what actually needs replacing. It saves me money, avoids doubling up, and gives me such peace of mind. If you’ve got multiple children like me, it’s especially helpful to track hand-me-downs, check for hidden stashes of uniforms, and avoid that last-minute scramble. You can download the checklist for free here.
The Organised Back To School Planner & Workshop
If you want to go deeper and get a full system for back-to-school prep, the Organised Back to School Planner is for you. This isn’t just about uniforms — it’s everything from school routines, folders, and supplies, to setting your child up for success in secondary school (especially if they struggle with organisation or need extra support). I’ll walk you through it all in the Back to School Planning Workshop, which is included inside my Organised Life Club. You’ll get access to the full planner and workshop replay (or join live if you’re reading this before the 8th of August). If you’re a neurodiverse family like mine, this system can really take the pressure off.
Super Awesome Back To School Pack For Kids
This one’s just for the children — and it’s seriously magical. The Super Awesome Back to School Pack for Kids is filled with fun, supportive printables designed to help your child feel calm, confident, and ready to start school again. From emotion check-ins and ‘about me’ pages to visual routines, mood trackers, and printable calm down cards, this pack is especially helpful for children with autism, ADHD, or big feelings about change. It’s a gentle, empowering way to prepare them for the school transition — and it’s included for all members inside the Organised Life Club.

Name Labels
These are the labels that I have used for the children for years. They stick into the care labels of clothes or onto surfaces such as lunch boxes, bags and drink bottles. After 24 hours they are machine washable and dishwasher safe, they really are brilliant.
Top tip: add your phone number to the labels so that items can be easily returned to you. Add +44 to the beginning of your phone number if travelling abroad. To save money and make hand me downs easy, use your family name rather than individual children’s names.
