Accommodation & Staying Overnight at Warwick Castle

Warwick Castle Hotel (New for 2024)

The Warwick Castle Hotel is the newest addition to the castle’s accommodation options, having opened in July 2024following a £16.4 million investment. Located within the castle grounds, this hotel features over 60 medieval-themed rooms, drawing inspiration from the Wars of the Roses with intricate rose motifs, rich fabrics, and wooden beams.

As soon as you step inside the Warwick Castle Hotel, you’re transported into a world of medieval grandeur. The lobby is beautifully themed, with rich tapestries, historical portraits, and wooden beams evoking the atmosphere of a grand medieval hall.

One of the standout features is the animatronic knight and horse, which reacts when guests attempt to pull the sword from the stone—a fun, interactive touch that immediately immerses visitors in the experience. The reception area is well-organised, with helpful staff available to assist with check-in and answer any questions about your stay.

In the lobby, you’ll find the hotel gift shop, stocked with a carefully curated selection of souvenirs, historical replicas, books, plush toys, and Warwick Castle-themed merchandise. If you’re looking for a keepsake from your visit, this is the perfect place to pick up a coat of arms, a medieval-style costume, or a handcrafted piece of Warwick Castle history.

Hotel Highlights

  • Location: The hotel is just a short walk from the castle entrance, making it the most convenient option for those looking to maximise their time at Warwick Castle.
  • Theming & Design: The historical portraits and medieval-style decor immerse you in the experience from the moment you step inside. The animatronic horse and knight in the lobby, which reacts when you try to pull the sword from the stone, is a brilliant interactive feature that adds a touch of magic.
  • Room Types: Rooms are spacious and family-friendly, with options for larger groups.
  • Facilities: The hotel includes a dedicated reception, dining options, and exclusive entertainment for guests staying on-site.

Hotel Rooms

The Warwick Castle Hotel rooms are designed to offer a luxurious yet family-friendly medieval retreat. Each room is richly themed with historical decor inspired by the Wars of the Roses, featuring ornate wooden beams, regal fabrics, and intricate rose motifs that transport guests back in time.

The rooms are spacious, with comfortable beds, ample storage, and modern amenities, ensuring a relaxing stay after a day of castle exploration. Family rooms include bunk beds for children. Each room is equipped with tea and coffee-making facilities, a TV, and an en-suite bathroom with either a walk-in shower or a bath—a great option for families with young children.

The hotel’s medieval charm is balanced with modern comforts, making it an ideal choice for guests who want a fully immersive yet convenient overnight experience within the castle grounds.

The Knight’s Village

The Knight’s Village at Warwick Castle offers a truly immersive medieval experience, set within a picturesque woodland area just a short walk from the castle itself. Designed to resemble a medieval encampment, the village features cosy Woodland Lodges, spacious Knight’s Lodges, and seasonal Glamping Tents, all themed to transport guests back in time.

Woodland Lodges

For families looking for a more budget-friendly stay, the Woodland Lodges are beautifully themed and include bunk beds, a double bed, and an open-plan living space.

Knight’s Lodges

The Knight’s Lodges in the Knight’s Village offer the most spacious and premium accommodation within this woodland retreat.

The open-plan living space is beautifully themed with medieval-inspired decor, featuring a cosy seating area, which converts to sleep 2 extra guests when required, a small dining table, and a TV, providing a comfortable space to relax after a day at the castle.

The children’s bedroom features a bunk bed with an additional pull-out bed, making it perfect for families. The room is beautifully decorated with a Bayeux Tapestry-themed wall design, adding to the immersive medieval experience while still feeling cosy and inviting for younger guests.

The upstairs mezzanine bedroom offers a spacious and private retreat for adults, featuring a comfortable double bed beneath rustic wooden beams, with medieval-themed decor that ties into the lodge’s immersive design.

The bathroom is a spacious wet-room with a walk-in shower, making it practical for families. With rich theming, comfortable furnishings, and a secluded woodland setting, the Knight’s Lodges offer a unique and magical way to stay overnight at Warwick Castle.

We stayed in a Knight’s Lodge, and here’s a full review of our experience.

Inside the Lodge:

  • Living Space: The open-plan living area includes a sofa, a small dining table, a mini-fridge, tea and coffee-making facilities, and plenty of storage space. The decor is full of medieval details, from suit-of-armour wall art to intricate wooden carvings.
  • Sleeping Arrangements:
    • Downstairs: A bunk bed room (with an additional pull-out bed) and a double sofa bed in the living area.
    • Upstairs Mezzanine: The main bedroom with a double bed, offering extra privacy and space.
    • Safety Features: The built-in baby gates on the stairs are a thoughtful touch for families with young children.
  • Bathroom: The lodges feature a spacious wet-room-style bathroom with a walk-in shower. There’s no bath, so families with younger children may prefer the hotel rooms, which do have baths.
  • Heating & Comfort: The lodge was warm and comfortable, making it a great year-round option.

Glamping at Warwick Castle

For a more adventurous stay, Warwick Castle also offers Glamping Tents, available during the warmer months. Each tent is fully furnished with medieval-inspired decor, real beds, and a private outdoor seating area. Breakfast is included, delivered in a hamper with a continental selection and a hot breakfast roll voucher. This is a great option for those who want to enjoy the outdoors while still having some of the comforts of a traditional stay.
