Is Halara Activewear Worth the Hype?

If you’ve been anywhere near Instagram or TikTok lately, chances are you’ve seen people raving about Halara.

It’s that viral activewear brand known for its colourful dresses, workout sets, and magical pockets that actually fit your phone

And if you’re like me (a busy mum constantly running between home, school, and work) finding clothes that are comfy and cute is basically the dream.

Well, I finally gave Halara a go, and after trying on a big bundle of their bestsellers, I’ve got some honest thoughts to share.

First Impressions: Better Than I Expected

Full disclosure: the items I tried were gifted — but as always, all opinions are completely my own.

I’d seen Halara everywhere but wasn’t sure if it would actually live up to the hype. Spoiler: it really did. From the moment I opened the parcel, I was blown away by how soft everything felt, how flattering the fits were, and how thoughtfully designed the details are — especially for mums who want function and freedom.

My Top Picks From Halara (So Far…)

Here are the standout pieces I’ve tried so far, including why I love them — and what to look out for if you’re placing your own order.

Halara Dresses

Softlyzero™ Airy Backless Twisted Cool Touch Dance Active Dress-Easy Peezy Edition

Colours I tried: Hot Pink (standard length), Black (longer length), Red (standard length)

This was the first Halara dress I tried on — and honestly, it set the bar high.

Let’s start with the name: “Easy Peezy Edition”. I didn’t know how much I needed that until I tried it on. The attached shorts underneath aren’t stitched at the sides like some other brands — so you can actually pull them down to go to the loo without undressing. That alone makes this a mum-friendly win if, like me, you often have tiny humans with you in public toilets.

The back is absolutely gorgeous — with a twisted strap design that looks fab but still feels supportive. There’s a built-in bra that I’d say gives light to medium support. Personally, I don’t trampoline or do HIIT (ADHD and bouncing don’t mix), but for walking, working from home, or even ballet and Pilates, it’s ideal.

✨ Hot Pink (Standard Length)

This colour made me so happy. Yes, it’s a short dress, but because of the built-in shorts, I didn’t feel exposed. It’s my top pick of the three in terms of colour — bright, fun, and brilliant for holidays or just feeling good at home. The fabric is breathable, soft, and lightweight — perfect for warmer weather or working up a sweat on my walking pad.

🖤 Black (Longer Length)

This one felt like the perfect “out and about” version. Slightly more coverage, but just as comfy and flattering. If you’re not sure which length to go for, I’d say:
– Standard length = great for holidays, garden days, and workouts
– Longer length = ideal for school runs or popping out locally if you want a bit more coverage

❤️ Red (Standard Length)

This one’s giving Disney Cruise energy — I’m 100% packing it! The shorter style is flirty and fun, and the colour is bold without being too much. Great for holiday photos or theme park days where you still want to be comfy and cool.

Phone Pocket Test? ✔️✔️✔️
My massive iPhone fits easily in the pocket and doesn’t look bulky. Actual miracle.

Crisscross Backless Flare 2-Piece Pocket Dance Active Dress

Colours I tried: Green and Lilac (both in standard length)
(Note: Halara often has similar names for their dresses — this one comes with separate shorts!)

If you like the idea of an activewear dress but struggle with attached shorts (hello, toilet logistics), this one might be the solution.

The Crisscross Backless Flare 2-Piece Dress comes with completely separate matching shorts — which means easy outfit versatility. You can wear the dress alone if you’re pottering around the house or garden, or pair it with the shorts for extra coverage and practicality.

💚 Green Version

Not a colour I usually go for, but I absolutely loved it once it was on. The crisscross back is just so pretty and flattering, and the fabric is the same soft, breathable stretch that Halara does so well. This would be perfect for spring-summer walks, workouts, or just working from home while feeling a bit pulled together.

The built-in bra is decent, but I’d say slightly less supportive than the “Easy Peezy” dress. Still absolutely fine for walking, light stretching, or a low-key day.

💜 Lilac Version

This one feels a bit Barbiecore-meets-practical-mum — and I’m here for it. Again, separate shorts, super comfy fit, and it looks more like a cute casual summer dress than something you’d normally associate with “activewear.” It’s giving “I’ve got my life together” energy (even if I haven’t slept properly in a week).

I found stepping into this dress easier than pulling it over my head — especially with the pretty back detail. One of those good-to-know tips before you wrestle yourself into it!

Why I Love This Style:

✔️ Separate shorts = toilet-friendly
✔️ Flattering crisscross back
✔️ Soft, floaty skirt (not clingy!)
✔️ Can mix and match the shorts with other tops
✔️ Pretty enough to wear on holiday or just hanging at home

If you’re looking for a lighter, more flexible option than the built-in-short dresses, this 2-piece active dress is definitely worth a try. I love that it feels a bit more breathable and “free,” but still practical for mum life.

Breezeful Dress & Shorts With Pockets

Square Neck Ruched Dress

I think this square-neck dress might just be my new favourite. The corset-style top gives it such a flattering shape, and the fabric is soft, drapey, and hangs beautifully. It also has a built-in bra — which is always a win — and it comes in so many gorgeous colours and I am thrilled to now own it in a few of them!

Crisscross Backless Cropped Yoga Tank Top

This top. THIS TOP. I want it in every single colour they make.

The Crisscross Backless Cropped Yoga Tank Top in Peachskin might just be my perfect activewear top. It’s cropped but not too cropped, fitted without being restrictive, and the back? Just stunning.

The built-in bra offers medium to high support, which is more than enough for my walking pad sessions, light workouts, and even a ballet class. Plus, it’s so pretty I’d wear it not working out too — maybe with a skirt, shorts, or even jeans in the summer. It’s giving cute gym-core, ballet-core, and “mum on the go” all in one.

Why I’m Obsessed:

✔️ Gorgeous criss-cross back design
✔️ Surprisingly supportive built-in bra
✔️ Super flattering neckline
✔️ Holds everything in without digging in
✔️ Breathable and lightweight — perfect for warm days or layering
✔️ Comes in loads of colours… which I am now heavily eyeing up 👀

If you’re new to Halara and wondering where to start, this top is a very safe bet. I’m already planning to order it in black, white, and pink… and probably a couple more because it’s just that good.

Edit, I have since had this top in lots more colours!

Open Criss Cross Back Top – Deep Lotus Pink

This top has a criss-cross back like the one above, but with a much more open design. It also has a built-in bra and feels supportive enough for everyday wear and low-impact activities. That said, the other style offers firmer support and would be my choice for anything higher impact.

I genuinely love both designs — they’re different enough that you could have a similar colour in each and still feel like you’re wearing something completely different.

Open Criss Cross Back Top – Black

This black top is the same style as the last one in Lotus Pink, just in a longer length — and I love it.

Black Twist Back Top – Longer Length

This is another black, longer-length top — this one has the same back detail as the “easy peasy dress” and it’s absolutely gorgeous.

Twist Back Tops

These tops are the same design as the longer-length black twist-back style, just in a shorter cut. They come in so many colours and they’re absolutely gorgeous.

U Neck Backless Crossover Barre Ballet Dance Tank Top

This one is giving serious balletcore elegance — and I’m absolutely here for it.

The U-Neck Backless Crossover Barre Ballet Dance Tank Top is beautifully structured, a little more formal-looking than the criss-cross version, and offers even more built-in support. I tried it in white, which gives a clean, minimalist feel — but it would also pair beautifully with bold bottoms like black or bright pink for a high-contrast outfit.

A Few Things I Loved:

✔️ The u-neckline is super flattering — not too high, not too low
✔️ The back detail is absolutely stunning — a real showpiece
✔️ Slightly more structured than the Criss-Cross top = great support
✔️ Could easily double as a summer top with jeans or a maxi skirt
✔️ Pairs perfectly with anything from leggings to flowy active skirts

If you’re looking for something stylish, structured, and wearable beyond workouts, this one’s a winner.

Halara Skirts

Breezeful™ High Waisted High Low Ruffle 2-in-1 Flowy Quick Dry Casual Regular Maxi Skirt

This one was a bit of a wildcard pick for me — I don’t normally go for longer, flowy skirts, but wow… I’m so glad I tried it.

The Breezeful™ Ruffle Maxi Skirt in Ballad Blue is elegant, floaty, and honestly feels like you’re gliding around the house in a Disney princess moment. It has that beautiful high-low hem that gives it movement, but still has the practical features I need — built-in shorts, and a waistband that holds me in without digging.

What I Love:

✔️ Light, breathable fabric – perfect for summer or warmer days
✔️ Flowy and flattering without feeling bulky
✔️ Has built-in shorts for modesty and comfort (no chafing!)
✔️ Makes you feel instantly more “put together” — even at home
✔️ Could be dressed up with a nice top and sandals, or kept super casual with trainers

This is a great piece for travel too — I’m definitely taking it on our cruise. I love that it feels dressy but is actually as comfy as loungewear. You could wear it to a dinner, on the beach, or just working from home and still feel floaty and fabulous.

If you’re looking for a longer activewear skirt that still gives you freedom to move and breathe, this is a fantastic choice.

Softlyzero™ Airy Crossover Side Pocket 2-in-1 Cool Touch Tennis Skirt-Lucid-Longer Length-UPF50+

Colours I tried: Fuchsia Fedora (hot pink), Nosegay (light pink)

(Make sure you choose the longer length if that’s your preference — they offer shorter versions too!)

Let’s talk about these tennis skirts — because they’re officially my new summer uniform.

The Softlyzero™ Airy Crossover Skirt ticks every single box:
✅ Built-in shorts
✅ Actual side pockets that fit my massive iPhone
✅ Flattering criss-cross waistband
✅ Soft, lightweight, breathable fabric
✅ UPF 50+ sun protection (yes please!)

I ordered the longer length in both colours and I’m so glad I did — they’re not too long, just enough coverage to feel confident out and about while still keeping things cute.

💖 Fuchsia Fedora (Hot Pink)

This was the showstopper. I paired it with my ballet-style criss-cross top and felt instantly cute. This colour just makes me happy — it’s bold, fun, and works with so many tops. It’s swishy without being too short, and I loved how secure the waistband felt without digging in.

Honestly? This is my favourite skirt of the bunch. If you’re only going to try one — go for this colour and style combo.

💗 Nosegay (Light Pink)

This one is super pretty and girly — but quick PSA: don’t wear black underwear under it like I did 😂. Definitely go for nude or seamless pants. That said, the built-in shorts and flowy outer layer made it feel comfy and secure even with the lighter shade.

It’s still really wearable, and I’d style this one more for at-home workouts, garden days, or pairing with a crisp white top for a softer look.

Why These Skirts Work for Me:

✔️ Great for mum life – practical + cute
✔️ Easy to dress up or down
✔️ Perfect for my walking pad or just popping out
✔️ Built-in shorts + phone pockets = instant win
✔️ The crossover waistband is so flattering, even on bloated or tired days

If you’ve never tried an activewear skirt before, I highly recommend starting with this one. It’s functional and fun — and definitely part of my summer capsule wardrobe now.

Sizing & Fit Tips

If you’re wondering what size to order or whether Halara’s pieces will suit your body shape and lifestyle, here’s what I found after trying on a wide range of their styles:

  • Halara offers an extensive range of inclusive sizes.
  • I’m around 5’4.5” tall and a UK size 10, and I ordered a size Small (8–10) in everything.
  • Fit-wise, everything felt true to size. The dresses, tops, and skirts all fit me comfortably without being too tight or too loose.
  • The criss-cross ballet-style top and the barre tank top were both surprisingly supportive. If you prefer a tighter compression feel, you might size down, but I found the Small ideal for low- to medium-impact activity.
  • The dresses with built-in bras felt most supportive in the twisted-back “Easy Peezy” style. The 2-piece dresses with separate shorts had a looser, breezier feel.
  • I chose the longer lengths in most of the dresses and skirts, and I’m so glad I did. They still feel cool and summery, but offer that extra bit of coverage — especially useful for school runs or everyday life where I want to feel comfy and confident.
  • The waistbands on the skirts are stretchy but secure — they sit nicely without rolling down or digging in, even on bloaty days (we’ve all been there).
  • And yes — the pockets fit my massive iPhone. A small but essential win.

If you’re between sizes, I’d say Halara runs slightly generous rather than small — so stick with your usual size unless you prefer a super-snug fit.

Final Thoughts: Is Halara Worth It?

After trying a wide range of pieces — from dresses and skirts to ballet-inspired tops — I can honestly say that Halara has lived up to the hype for me.

Their activewear is:

  • Flattering
  • Comfortable
  • Practical for mum life
  • And actually fun to wear

Whether I’m walking on my treadmill, dashing on the school run, filming content, or just working from home, I feel pulled together — without having to sacrifice comfort or reach for “proper” clothes.

If you’ve had your eye on Halara, this is your sign to give it a go. And if you’re not sure where to start, I’ve linked all of my top picks in this post to make things easier.
