If you’re juggling packed lunches, appointments, work deadlines, school runs, and everything in between — you’re not alone. I created the Organised Life Binder because I needed a system to manage the chaos of family life (especially as a mum of four, some with additional needs, and someone who didn’t even realise she had ADHD until 40).
I needed somewhere to put everything. A way to stop everything living in my head or floating around on bits of paper, and actually feel on top of things for once. If that sounds familiar, the Organised Life Binder might just change everything for you too.

What Is The Organised Life Binder?
The Organised Life Binder is more than just a planner — it’s a full system to help you feel calmer, more in control, and more supported in your daily life. It’s where I keep everything from:
- My monthly planning pages
- Meal planning templates
- Cleaning routines
- School holiday planners (for me and the kids)
- Back-to-school checklists
- Morning and evening routines
- Birthday party planning
- Christmas prep printables
- Notes from meetings, appointments, and school communications
- All the brain dumps and side quests that would otherwise derail my week
And because it’s a printable system, it’s completely flexible. Add what you need, remove what you don’t, and build it to suit your season of life.

What You’ll Need To Get Started
To create your Organised Life Binder, you’ll need a few key supplies to make it practical, effective, and enjoyable to use. Below, I’ve listed the physical essentials that will help you set up a binder that works for you. I’ve also included links to my favourite items, so you can get exactly what I use and love.
A Home Printer
I use the Epson EcoTank ET‑2876. It’s great for bulk printing and works beautifully with A5 pages.
Note: These are the specific files and dividers that I use to create my binder, you can use what you have or buy colours / sizes to suit your preferences.
To Build An A4 Organised Life Binder
A4 Folder With Customisable Cover
Start with a sturdy ring binder that you love. This is going to be the home for all your planning, lists, and ideas, so find one that is durable and large enough to hold everything. I like this one as you can slip a cover of your choice in the front to customise your binder.
Clear File Dividers
These help to separate different sections in your binder, making it easy to find exactly what you need. For example, you could have dividers for daily planning, goal setting, self-care, and notes.
Punched Pockets
These are perfect for storing loose items like important documents, receipts, or stickers.
Hole Punch
You’ll need a hole punch to be able to add new pages to your binder.
To Build An A5 Organised Life Binder
Prefer Something More Portable? While I still use my full-size A4 Organised Life Binder at home, I now also use a more compact version for on-the-go planning. Introducing the Mini Binder System — the same powerful tools, shrunk down to A5 and popped into lightweight, portable binders you can take anywhere.
Mini A5 Binders
I love ones with rings that are easy to open and close. Look for ones with pockets inside too! We have a few variations in our family as the kids all have them too. Here are the ones we have and I can recommend, but feel free to choose something that matches your style.
A5 Paper
You can buy it pre-cut, or cut down A4 paper. I now use A5 paper exclusively when printing these resources.
Hole Punch for A5
This is essential for punching your paper. I find it works out much cheaper to buy plan paper and hole punch it myself than to buy pre punched paper.
A5 Dividers
To keep everything neat and sectioned.
A5 Zip Pockets
Great for keeping stickers, pens, receipts, or little bits and bobs safe.
How To Print On A5 Paper
If you’ve never printed on A5 before, here’s the quick version:
- Cut your paper to A5 (or buy pre-cut)
- Change your printer settings to A5 size (you may need to adjust this in both your print setup and printer preferences)
- Make sure the printable PDF is set to scale to fit, and check the preview
- Print and punch – you’re good to go!
A System That Works For You
This system isn’t about perfection — it’s about finding a rhythm that works for you. Some weeks my binder is fully up to date. Some weeks it’s full of scribbles, to-do lists, and sticky notes. But it’s mine, and it works.
Whether you’re planning meals, holidays, birthdays, or just trying to get out the door on time with kids in tow, having a planner that fits your brain and your life makes all the difference.

Some Nice To Have Extras
Planner Stickers
These are amazing for brightening up and personalising your binder pages.
Sticky Notes
Use sticky notes for reminders, quick to-dos, or even as makeshift tabs to bookmark important sections.
Erasable Pens & Highlighters
Make planning fun and visually appealing. Colour-coding your tasks and notes can make it much easier to see what’s coming up at a glance. It’s not compulsory to use erasable versions, but I find them handy for keeping things neat when plans change.
Why These Essentials Matter
These items will form the backbone of your Organised Life Binder, making it both functional and easy to personalise. Dividers will help you create clear sections for different parts of your life, sticky notes will keep important thoughts front and centre, and colourful pens will bring some fun into your planning routine—because staying organised doesn’t have to be boring!
Printable Packs to Help You Build Your Organised Life Binder
Once you’ve gathered your physical essentials, it’s time to bring your Organised Life Binder to life with printable pages that will help you plan, organise, and manage everything in one place. To help you get started, I’ve created an Organised Life Binder Starter Pack, designed to cover the basics of daily planning and organisation. This starter pack includes pages like daily planners, weekly overviews, gratitude prompts, and habit trackers—everything you need to get your binder up and running.

This Isn’t Just A Planner — It’s A System That Works With Your Brain
Whether you’re a naturally organised person or someone (like me) who has to work a bit harder to stay on top of things, the binder is designed to support you. It helps you get everything out of your head and into a system that actually works — and keeps working even when life gets messy.
So if you’re ready to stop feeling like you’re constantly behind and start building routines and rhythms that actually workfor your family — the Organised Life Binder is waiting for you inside the club.
How to Customise Your Binder to Fit Your Life
One of the best parts about the Organised Life Binder is that it can be completely personalised to fit your unique life and priorities. While the starter pack provides a great foundation, the additional printable packs allow you to build a system that works specifically for you. Here are a few ideas to help you make your binder truly yours:
- Create Specific Sections: Depending on what you need to manage, you can divide your binder into sections such as daily planning, family schedules, wellness and self-care, or financial tracking.
- Decorate for Motivation: Make your binder visually appealing with colourful dividers, stickers, or even inspirational quotes. Having a binder that looks inviting can motivate you to use it more regularly.
- Add Personal Elements: Include photos, mementos, or special notes that bring you joy. This will help keep the binder not just practical, but personal, too.
The goal is to create a system that doesn’t just help you get through your tasks but also makes planning a more enjoyable part of your day.
Tips for Using the Organised Life Binder Effectively
Getting the most out of your Organised Life Binder is all about building habits that incorporate it into your daily life. Here are some tips to help you use it effectively:
- Daily Planning Sessions: Set aside a few minutes each morning to outline your intentions for the day, schedule any appointments, and jot down top priorities.
- Weekly Planning Sessions: I love to do a weekend reset where I get everything ready and planned out for the week ahead.
- Evening Reflections: At the end of the day, spend some time reflecting on what went well, noting your wins, and identifying anything you’d like to improve tomorrow. This will help you learn from each day and keep your momentum going.
- Brain Dump Anytime You Feel Overwhelmed: If you find your mind getting cluttered, use the brain dump section in your binder to jot down thoughts, tasks, and ideas. This helps clear your mind and keeps everything organised in one place.
- Stay Flexible: Your needs might change over time, so don’t be afraid to adjust the pages, sections, or even add new printables. The flexibility of the binder is what makes it such a powerful tool.
Why the Organised Life Binder Works
The Organised Life Binder is not just about staying on top of your tasks—it’s about finding a sense of calm and control in a busy life. By bringing everything you need into one place, it helps reduce mental clutter, improves productivity, and allows you to feel more in control. Instead of scrambling to keep track of loose notes and random to-do lists, the binder helps centralise all your thoughts, plans, and goals.
Plus, the structure of the binder can be totally customised to suit your needs. From goal-setting pages to gratitude prompts, it encourages a mindful approach to everyday life. It’s not only about getting things done but also about celebrating your wins, reflecting on lessons, and finding the joy in small moments.
