If you’re getting ready to set sail on a Disney Cruise — especially from the UK — there’s one very early step that can make a big difference to your holiday: online check-in.
We recently completed our own check-in for the Disney Fantasy sailing from Southampton, and as a Silver Castaway Club member, that meant setting an alarm for 5am (yes, really!) — because the earlier you check in, the better your port arrival time, and the sooner you can start the magic onboard.
Here’s exactly what we did, what you’ll need to prepare, and how to make the process smooth and stress-free — even before your morning coffee.

When Can You Check In?
Your online check-in window depends on your Castaway Club status:
- First-time cruisers: 30 days before sailing
- Silver members (like us): 33 days
- Gold: 35 days
- Platinum: 38 days
- Pearl: 40 days

What You Need Before You Begin
Before you log in to the Disney Cruise Line website, make sure you have the following saved to a folder on your computer or phone:
- Passport photos for every traveller (JPEG format)
- Security headshots (plain background, no hats/sunglasses)
- Emergency contact details
- Your Disney Cruise Line login info
- A debit or credit card to attach to your onboard spending account

The Check-In Process (Step-by-Step)
- Log in to your DCL account and go to “Already Booked” > “My Reservations.”
- Confirm your guest info, upload passports and headshots.
- Set up your onboard spending account. You’ll need to tick/untick if your children have charging privileges (very handy to control!).
- If you have children aged 3–10, complete the Oceaneer Club registration. You’ll set pickup permissions, secret word, and allergy info.
- Add your travel plans (e.g. car parking, flying, etc.).
- Choose your Port Arrival Time — the earlier you check in, the better your slot!
- Print or save your port arrival forms — you’ll need these on embarkation day.

Final Tips Before Embarkation
- DO bring your printed port arrival forms and passports in your hand luggage.
- DO pack your alcohol allowance in your hand luggage (not in checked bags).
- DON’T pack anything from this list of banned items, especially CBD products — they’re legal in the UK but banned onboard and can get you denied boarding!

You’re All Set!
Once you’ve submitted everything, your port arrival time, boarding group, and assembly station details will be confirmed. Add everything to your phone wallet and keep printed copies handy too.
