What is it called when adults dress up at Disney?
When adults dress up at Disney, not in costumes, but in the style of their favourite Disney characters, Disney rides or even Disney snacks, it’s referred to as Disneybounding.
As adults are not allowed to wear costumes at Disney, Disneybounding is a wonderful way to capture that Disney magic, whatever your age.

Why are adults not allowed to wear costumes at Disney?
Disney reserves the right to deny admission to or remove any person wearing attire that is considered inappropriate or attire that could detract from the experience of other Guests. Attire that is not appropriate for the parks—and which may result in refusal of admittance—includes but is not limited to costumes and masks, which may not be worn by Guests 14 years of age or older.

Adults are not allowed to wear costumes in the Disney parks as other guests may confuse them for cast members.
Is Disneybounding allowed?
As Disneybounding utilises modern fashion and individual style to represent characters without veering into cosplay, Disneybounding is allowed in the Disney parks.
Who invented DisneyBound?

Disneybounding was invented by blogger Leslie Kay when she established her blog Disneybound.co

DisneyBounding is a way to express your love for Disney through fashion. It uses clothes to recreate the outfits of your favourite Disney characters without being costume-y. You could go to school or the mall in a DisneyBound and not get pegged for being in costume.

Kay started not just a trend but an entire community of inspiring Disneybounders. She went on to write a book exploring Disneybounding and sharing inspiration and ideas for bounding as different characters.

What is the difference between Disneybounding and Cosplay?
Disneybounding is a way of dressing that utilises clothing that you could and would wear in every day life. While a keen eyed Disney fan may spot the character that inspired the look, Disneybound outfits are not costumes and can be worn in the real world as well as the happiest place on earth.
