What is Disneybounding?
DisneyBounding is a way to express your love for Disney through fashion. It uses clothes to recreate the outfits of your favorite Disney characters without being costume-y. You could go to school or the mall in a DisneyBound and not get pegged for being in costume.

Where do you start with Disneybounding?
There are a few ways in which you can get started with your first Disneybound. Warning – it’s addictive and once you get your Disney creative juices flowing, you will see bounding inspiration all around you.
Start with a character
The first way to get started is to pick a character. Look for a picture of your chosen character to study as you create your bound. Study the character and look for colours, shapes and distinctive characteristics that represent them.
Start with a colour
Maybe you want to begin with a colour palette? Head over to Google or Pinterest and type the colour of your choice followed by the words “Disney characters” and look for a character that inspires you.
Start with a piece of clothing
Maybe you have a piece of clothing that you would like to build your bound around? A yellow skirt? A blue top? Whatever it is, head back to interest or Google and search for a character (or characters) that your chosen piece will work with.
Top Tips For Disneybounding
Look For Bright Versatile Pieces
Selecting bright pieces makes your outfits feel instantly “more Disney”. Steering away from patterns such as florals, checks or other designs will keep your bounds more true to the style of the character.
Utilise Pattern & Texture
Having just told you to avoid patterns, I am now going to contradict myself by telling you to embrace patterns when they fit the characters. For example, selecting a red skirt with white polka dots will make your Minnie Mouse bound far “more Minnie” than a plain red skirt.
Think About Shapes & Silhouettes
You can utilise not only colour but shape to represent your chosen character. Think about Belle’s yellow off the shoulder gown, Daisy Duck’s fluffy white tail or Snow White’s puffy sleeves. Although Bounding is not a literal representation of the character, taking these elements and incorporating their style into your outfits will make your bounds all the more special.

Accessories For The Win
Bags
If you are heading to the parks, you will need a bag to carry all of your essentials, so why not make it a key part of your outfit? It can be a colour blocked piece to represent the character, or even a bespoke character bag from a brand like Loungefly.
What Are Loungefly Bags?
Loungefly are stunning designer bags, mini backpacks cross body bags wallets and more. They have an extensive range of stunning Disney designs, ideal for Disneybounding.
Loungefly bags really are collectables and are coveted among the Disneybound community.
Jewellery

Use jewellery pieces to enhance your bound. Think of adding an apple charm for Snow White, a shoe necklace for Cinderella or a rose for Belle.
Shoes
Having the right colour for footwear will really complete your bounds. Lots of characters will have similar colours for shoes. Yellow shoes are especially handy for bounding! Think about how many characters yellow shoes work for; Mickey, Minnie, Belle, Lumiere, Snow White & Whinnie The Pooh to name but a few.

Make It Practical
Think about where you will be going while you are Disneybounding. Will you be heading to the parks? If you are, think about comfortable footwear (that also enhances your bounding) as you will be doing a lot of walking.
What time of year will you be bounding? What will the weather be like?
All these things must be considered so that your outfit adds joy to your day, rather than negatively impacts it.
Consider Era
Which era is your character from? Are they a classic Disney character from the 1950’s? Or a more modern character? Think about selecting the fashions of the era your character originates from.
Go Through Your Wardrobe
Look through your clothes with fresh bounding eyes. Think about what you already have and how you can use it as the base for a bound. Which characters leap out at you when you look at what you own?
Create A Bounding Wish List
Brainstorm the bounds that you can create based on what you already own. Next make a wish list of pieces that would compliment and complete your bounding outfits. When you are growing online, or in stores, keep looking for these wish list pieces. Don’t forget to check charity shops and also ask if friends have any of these pieces that you could borrow or buy.
Bound Your Way
There are no hard and fast rules with bounding. You can bound in a dressy way, or keep it pretty simple and casual. From a cute t shirt and a subtle piece of jewellery with jeans, to being head to toe in the colours of your character, bound your own way!
Have Fun!
More than anything bounding is fun! From looking for outfit inspiration on Instagram and Pinterest, to feeling the joy of adding some Disney magic to your wardrobe and the fun of dressing in the Disney style”, enjoy your bounding!
