Start To Finish Complete Kitchen Makeover
We have recently undertaken a huge home renovation project (which you can check out in the playlist below) where every single room in the house needed a complete makeover. The room that is now our lovely grey and white kitchen was once a yellow dining room.

Check out the video below to see the more of what is now the kitchen “before” the makeover then keep reading to see the finished kitchen, learn about how we have styled it plus loads of organisation tips.
Cabinets & Worktops
We went to Wren kitchens to choose our kitchen cabinets and worktops and you can see our kitchen design vlog below.
We ended up going for matte grey handle-less cupboards and white quartz worktops. Check out the video below (which I know says it’s about the bedroom but opens with a kitchen tour) to see the kitchen fully installed.
Wall Tiles
I wanted a white “brick” effect tile with contrasting coloured grout. I was looking at bevelled edged tiles, but my husband pointed out att as good as these looked on a plain wall, as soon as you wanted to incorporate plug sockets they didn’t quite sit right and ruin the look and finish.

In the end, we went for these Windsor White Gloss Ceramic tiles with a contrasting grout. These tiles have given me the look I wanted but are flat so aren’t spoiled by electricity outlets. I must say that I am delighted with the finish.
Kettle & Toaster

I went for the D’Longi kettle and toaster as I felt that they would go beautifully in the kitchen. In the pictures online they looked sort of grey, but they really are white with a lovely multifaceted surface.
Toaster Tray
To help minimise crumbs and make cleaning up easier, I picked up this white tray for under the toaster and it fits perfectly. It also makes popping the toaster in the cupboard easier if I need to free up some more worktop space.

Food Storage Containers
As we don’t have endless amounts of countertop space, I didn’t want loads of jars things on display cluttering up the worktops.

I found these brilliant storage containers that have secure lids for freshness, come with stylish blackboard labels and a pen and stack too! The idea is that these will live in the cupboards, but they look so great that it won’t matter too much of they are occasionally left out.
Blackboard Labels

Although blackboard labels and pens come with the containers that I already mentioned, I like to have spares on hand for labelling other things around the kitchen.
Tea Towels
I wanted new grey and white tea towels in keeping with the theme and have been really pleased with these. They are lovely quality and have washed nicely.

Kitchen Food Waste Caddy
Although lots of councils provide food waste caddies, they are not usually the prettiest of things. I’m really pleased with this grey and white food waste bin which has a removable inner section that goes in the dishwasher.

Dustpan & Brush
What kitchen is complete without the obligatory dustpan and brush? This one matches perfectly.

Soap Dispenser
I wanted a matching refillable soap dispenser which looks much nicer than the plastic ones that you buy then throw away. This way is much kinder to the environment too.

Folding Step
Window Plants

I love the look of luscious green plants but know in practice that with four children, keeping them alive is highly unlikely. This is why I am in love with these artificial IKEA plants and plant pots. Check out my latest IKEA shop with me & haul video below for more IKEA inspiration.
