Laundry
If you have been following me for a while on Instagram or on my YouTube channel, you will know that the one thing that I recommend doing every morning is getting a load of laundry on. While you are going about your day, your machine will wash your clothes, working even if you are not.

Doing at least one load every day is the only way to stay on top of things when you have a family and avoid the overwhelm is to tackle laundry daily. For full details of exactly how I organise my laundry room and for my laundry routine, check out the articles below.
Making Beds
Making the bed every morning when you get up will instantly set the tone for the day. It makes your room look instantly tidier and means that you have instantly achieved something, what a great way to start the day!

Now I’m not asking for hospital corners or fresh sheets every single day, but smoothing over the duvet and sorting out the pillows is a few minutes well spent.

Once you have made your bed, make it smell amazing by spritzing it with some homemade fabric freshener. Full details of how to make your own homemade fabric freshener can be found by clicking the button below.
Kitchen Countertops
Each and every time you use the kitchen, make sure that you clean the kitchen countertops and leave them as you found them. There is no regret like the regret you feel waking up in the morning to a messy kitchen that should have been dealt with the night before.

As you cook, tidy as you go then make sure that you spray and wipe the kitchen countertops to leave them hygienically clean.
Dishes
Whether you hand wash or have a dishwasher, dishes are definitely a chore that you need to do every day. Dirty dishes will make your home messy and smelly and mean that you don’t have what you need when it comes time to make your next meal.
Load the dishwasher or wash up as you go and your life will become infinitely easier. Dishes are also one of the chores that you can get your kids involved with, which eases the burden on you and teaches them valuable life skills all at once.

You can make doing the dishes a breeze by using a Dishmatic fill and clean. We have a dishwasher but still use our Dishmatic for non dishwasher safe items and I wouldn’t be without it.
Clean Kitchen Sink

In order to be kept hygienically clean, your kitchen sink is something that should be cleaned every day. A quick spray with your favourite kitchen cleaner (I like Method pink grapefruit multi-surface cleaner) and a wipe with a microfibre cloth will do the trick when done every day.
Vaccuming

Now I’m not suggesting that you vacuum your entire house every day, but vacuuming at least one part of your home daily will help you to keep own tip of things. If you have small children that drop food at the table when you eat, this and other high traffic areas will need to be done daily. For other areas of your home, aim to vacuum at least one room each day when you have a few minutes to spare and your home will be far easier to keep clean.
Clearing Surfaces
Cluttered homes look messy and dirty. Not only that, but when surfaces are cluttered, your family will be far more likely to add to the mess and be less respectful fo the space. Make it a point to clear surfaces each day and your home will be instantly tidier.
Picking Up Toys
If you have kids, you will be familiar with the chaos that their toys can bring. Picking ups and putting away toys is a chore that needs to be done every day, even several times a day. This is another chore that you can definitely get your kids involved in, even from a very young age.
Wipe Around The Bathroom
Although it is probably not necessary to deep clean your entire bathroom daily, giving your bathroom a quick maintenance clean daily should be part of your rouitne.
Every day make sure that you;
- Spray the shower with a daily shower cleaner after use
- Wipe up any spills or toothpaste around the sink. I’d recommend keeping some cleaning materials in the bathroom so that you can quickly clean around while you are in there and have a few minutes to spare.
- Change the hand towel Bonus tip – wipe around the bathroom with the hand towel before you replace it with a fresh one.
Dealing With Paperwork
Mail, letters from the school and other paperwork can easily build up to cause mess and clutter. Make sure that you open mail daily, file what needs to be filed and shred what needs to be shredded as idle of your daily chores to avoid swimming in a sea of paperwork.
Cleaning Up Messes & Spills
Messes, spills and accidents need to be cleaned up as they happen every day, which will avoid your home turning into a stained, unclean environment that needs hours of deep cleaning to be set back to how it should be.
