✨ Being a mum means juggling a million things at once — and sometimes it feels like there just aren’t enough hours in the day. I know that feeling of firefighting all week long, but here’s the truth: carving out just a little time each weekend to plan properly actually buys you so much time back.
I’m sharing the exact Organised Weekly Planning System I use every weekend. This system keeps our mornings calmer, evenings smoother, and helps me stay on top of everything from school, work, meals, and family life. When I follow it, everything runs smoothly. When I don’t… things fall apart fast!

Why Mini Binders?
I still absolutely love my full-size Organised Life Binder — it’s where everything lives. But when I needed something smaller and more portable, I had a bit of a lightbulb moment. I realised that I could scale everything down to A5, pop it into cute little binders, and carry only what I needed — whether I’m at home, on the go, or even on a Disney Cruise (more on that in a bit!).
Now I’ve got two mini binders:
My Organised Life Mini Binder — for daily life, planning routines, school holidays, meals, birthdays, and more
My Magical Adventures Mini Binder — for all things travel, packing lists, trip documents, plans, and travel games for the kids
Start With the Binder Starter Packs
If you want to set up your own binder system, the best place to start is with the Organised Life Binder Starter Pack (included in the Organised Life Club membership) and the Magical Adventures Binder Starter Pack (included in the Magical Adventures Club membership). These give you everything you need to begin building out each binder — simple, flexible, and designed to grow with you.
Once you’ve got the base set up, you can add in other printables as and when you need them.

Inside the Organised Life Club, you’ll find loads of printable resources that slot straight into your binder, including:
- Birthday Party Planners
- Christmas Banner Printable
- Super Awesome School Holiday Pack for Kids
- Survive & Thrive School Holiday Planner (for grown-ups)
- Morning and Evening Routine Printables
- Monthly Planning Pages (released every month)
- New printables every month

And inside the Magical Adventures Club, you’ll find loads of resources that work beautifully in your Magical Adventures Binder, including:
- The Magical Adventures Binder Starter Pack
- Crusie Planning Pages
- Packing Lists and Outfit Planning Sheets
- Travel Activity Packs for Kids
- Countdown Calendars and Memory Pages
- Need Travel Planning Printables every month
You don’t need to print everything at once — just pick what you need right now and build your binders gradually. That’s the beauty of this system: it’s totally adaptable to your life.
What I Keep In Each Binder
In my Organised Life Binder, I’ve got printable packs like:
- Meal Planning Pages & Weekly Menus
- Summer Holiday Planner
- Back-to-School Checklists & Routine Resources
- Birthday Party Planning
- Morning & Evening Routines
- Monthly Planning Pages
In my Magical Adventures Binder, I include:
- Printable Cruise Planner
- Travel Documents & Important Info
- Outfit Planning Sheets
- Trip Countdown Calendars
- Kids’ Holiday Activity Packs
- Mini Break and Theme Park Plans
Each binder is like a portable control centre for a different area of life — and because they’re small and light, I can actually carry them around and use them, not just set them up and forget about them.
How To Set Up Your Own Mini Binders
If you want to create your own portable planner system, here’s what you’ll need:
Mini A5 Binders

I love these binders with rings that are easy to open and close, they have pockets inside too! We have a few colour variations of this binder in our family as the kids all have them too.
These are the ones we have and I can recommend, but feel free to choose something that matches your style.
A Home Printer That Prints A5
I use the Epson EcoTank ET‑2876. It’s great for bulk printing and works beautifully with A5 pages.
A5 Paper
You can buy it pre-cut, or cut down A4 paper. I now use A5 paper exclusively when printing these resources. Opt for a higher quality paper for a nicer planning experience.
Hole Punch for A5
This is essential for punching your paper. I find it works out much cheaper to buy plan paper and hole punch it myself than to buy pre punched paper.
A5 Dividers
To keep everything neat and sectioned.
A5 Zip Pockets
Great for keeping stickers, pens, receipts, or little bits and bobs safe.
How To Print On A5 Paper
If you’ve never printed on A5 before, here’s the quick version:
- Cut your paper to A5 (or buy pre-cut)
- Change your printer settings to A5 size (you may need to adjust this in both your print setup and printer preferences)
- Make sure the printable PDF is set to scale to fit, and check the preview
- Print and punch – you’re good to go!
A System That Works For You
This system isn’t about perfection — it’s about finding a rhythm that works for you. Some weeks my binder is fully up to date. Some weeks it’s full of scribbles, to-do lists, and sticky notes. But it’s mine, and it works.
Whether you’re planning meals, holidays, birthdays, or just trying to get out the door on time with kids in tow, having a planner that fits your brain and your life makes all the difference.
If you’re inside the Organised Life Club or Magical Adventures Club, you’ll already have access to all these printable packs — just download what you need and start building your own mini binders.
And if you’re not in the club yet — this is your sign. Come join the chaos-taming party. It’s so much easier when we do this together.
