Kids Boredom Buster Activities To Do At Home

Make a list of activities that your kids can do at home to keep them entertained. Include activities that can be carried out with minimal adult supervision for when you have things that you just have to get on with. Free Places To Visit
Make a list of free places to visit within your local area. You can include ideas such as a list of local parks, beaches, museums that offer free entry, picnic spots and more. Check out local Facebook pages and groups for events that may be running over thee summer. If you find yourself at a loose end one day, you can glance at this list and be greeted with lots of free options. This avoids inevitably wasting half of the given day trying to think up where you should be going.
Paid For Places To Go
In addition to your list of free places that you could go, write out a list of paid for options too. Remember that you do not have to visit many or even any of these paid for trips, but you have them there as options if you need them. Consider adding places like theme parks, soft play, restaurants, local sporting centres swimming pools and more to this list.
A List Of People To Connect With This Summer
Although at the start of the holidays it feels like we have all the time in the world as we consider the 6 weeks ahead of us, in reality it speeds by. It is all too easy to find ourselves at the end of the holidays having caught up with hardly any of the people that we swore we would make plans with. Make a list of people to connect with this summer and start getting some dates in your diary to catch up with friends.
Kids Chores
Agree at the beginning of the summer which chores your kids will be expected to do each day and each week. Making this list of chores together with your kids should help to avoid sheer shock from your children when they are asked to do thinks such as clear away their toys through the summer break.
An easy way to list out and then utilise this kids chore list is with a printable chore chart, grab yours below.

Organisation Tasks To Tackle
Make a list of organisation task and projects that need doing around your home. By all means include large projects and entire rooms if you wish, but include mini projects too. Think about drawers that need sorting, shelves that need decluttering and cupboards that need organising. Be specific with your list. When you find yourself with a few spare minutes you can check your list and pick a project that you can complete in your given time and tick off your list.
Back To School Stock Take
As early as possible during the holiday, I’d highly recommend doing a back to school stock take. This is where you make a list (or use my printable list) of everything that your kids need for school in September, then go around your house checking what you already have. Often many uniform items will still fit and be perfect for the upcoming academic year.
Back To School Shopping List
Once you have done your back to school stock take and have seen what your kids already have for September, you can write your back to school shopping list. Doing this as early as possible in the holidays will give you plenty of time to procure everything on your list at the best prices.
Self Care Goals
Fitting in self care as a Mum, especially when the children are home, can often fall to the bottom of the priority list. Make a list of self care habits that you feel would make a good addition to your life and squeeze in as many as you can into your summer.
Summer Bucket List
Now out of all of these lists, make one combined summer bucket list. This list should include your favourite options from each of the lists that you have brainstormed so far. Spend your summer trying to tick as many items off this bucket list as you can.
Summer Wins
This is an ongoing list that you need to make through the summer. It’s a list of all of the things that have made you smile this summer. This could be a straight forward list, a collection for photos, journal entires or a scrap book.
