If you’re anything like me, switching between bags can be chaos—especially when you’re juggling school runs, days out with the kids, and a million other things. So I’ve created a system that actually works with my ADHD brain, helps me stay organised, and means I can grab the right bag and head out the door without forgetting something crucial.
Let me show you what’s in my go bag and the system that keeps it all running smoothly.

My Grab-And-Go System
Instead of a typical “purse bowl” or chucking everything into the nearest handbag, I use an IKEA KUGGIS box as a central hub. All of my essentials live here in clearly labelled pouches. That way, no matter whether I’m taking a backpack, a crossbody, or a shoulder tote, I can quickly grab what I need without having to repack.
- Clear pouches keep everything visible and leak-proof.
- I use AirTags on the kids’ bags and even their wrists when we’re heading somewhere busy.
- My keys have an AirTag and my AirPods clipped on for convenience.
🔑 Everyday Essentials
- Keys (with AirTag and AirPods)
- Tiny wallet with just the essentials:
- A few coins
- A £20 note for emergencies
- A few business cards (because you never know!)
- Phone (loaded with digital cards like Apple Pay)
🌞 Personal Care On The Go
- A makeup pouch for quick top-ups. Check out my makeup favourites here.
- Face sunscreen spray (that works over makeup)
- Children’s sunscreen
- Vaseline – multi-use and an absolute essential for one of my daughters
🩹 Mini Medical Kit
Because, well… mum life.
- Plasters (including blister plasters—a must!)
- Paracetamol and Ibuprofen
- A spare ADHD medication dose
- Hay fever tablets
- Cold & flu sachets
- Sachets of Calpol for the little ones
🍬 Comfort + Convenience
- Mints
- A snack (always)
- Reusable water bottle
- Pens and a nail file
- Foldable shopping bags (carabinered together so I can actually find them)
🔋 Tech + Work Supplies
- Power bank and charging cables
- Spare camera batteries
- Spare SD cards
🧠 Little Extras
- Fidget toys (in case one of my kids with autism needs one)
