Bookable Extras on a Disney Cruise: What to Know Before You Sail

If you’re planning a Disney Fantasy cruise, you’re probably wondering what costs are already covered and what you’ll need to budget a little extra for. While Disney Cruise Line includes a huge amount in the price of your sailing, there are a few special extras you might want to book ahead of time. In this post, I’m breaking down all of the bookable extras onboard the Disney Fantasy, plus when and how to secure them.

When Can You Book?

Before we dive into the list, let’s talk about when you can actually book these extras. Your booking window depends on your Castaway Club status:

First-time cruisers: 75 days before sailing
Silver Castaway Club (1+ completed cruises): 90 days before
Gold (5+): 105 days before
Platinum (10+): 120 days before
Pearl (25+): 123 days before
Concierge Guests: 130 days before

Once your booking window opens, you’ll want to log in at 5:00am UK time (midnight Florida time) to get the best choice of availability. Some of these activities do sell out quickly, especially the adult-only dining.

Specialty Dining

I go into loads of detail in my adults-only dining video, but it’s worth mentioning briefly here. On the Disney Fantasy, Palo and Remy are the two bookable restaurants for grown-ups. Palo brunch tends to sell out the quickest, so if you want it—book it the second your window opens! I’d personally choose Palo over a wine tasting again, but more on that later.

Beverage Seminars and Tastings

Disney Cruise Line doesn’t offer traditional alcoholic drinks packages, but they do have some brilliant tasting experiences you can book ahead of time. These include wine tastings, champagne tastings, whiskey or bourbon tastings, and mixology classes. They’re really fun and tend to sell out quickly, especially mixology. We did a wine tasting on the Dream and really enjoyed it, although I think I’d book brunch at Palo next time instead.

Sports Simulators

Found up on Goofy’s Sports Deck, these include Goofy Golf and other simulator-based sports activities. Our son Will tried both of them on our last cruise. They’re chargeable extras, and while we had a tech hiccup (and a refund), they’re worth considering if your kids are sporty. Again, they book up quickly!

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

Our girls have done this twice—once on the Wish and once on the Dream—and both times it was absolutely magical. This is a bookable experience where children can be transformed into princesses, pirates, or other characters. I’ve got a full video coming on it, but just know that it’s very popular and definitely one to book early.

Royal Court Royal Tea

This is a step up in price and exclusivity from Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and sells out even quicker. It’s a special princess character dining event with themed treats and gifts. Unlike the boutique, you’ll pay for both the child and any accompanying adults. It’s not something we’ve done yet, but it’s on my list to try in future.

Senses Spa & Rainforest Room

If you’re after a bit of grown-up relaxation, you can pre-book salon and spa treatments at Senses Spa. Think massages, facials, and more. There’s also the Rainforest Room—an adult-only retreat with heated loungers, aromatherapy showers, and steam rooms. Top tip: look out for port-day discounts, as the spa is often quieter when others are off the ship.

In-Room Gifts & Celebration Packages

Disney offers a range of gifts and celebration packages you can have delivered to your stateroom. Think birthday decorations, honeymoon surprises, snack bundles, even celebration cakes. These need to be booked via the Disney Cruise Line gifts and amenities page before you sail.

Photography Packages

If you’re the one always behind the camera (like me), booking a photo package can be a great investment. There are photographers all over the ship—at character meet and greets, in restaurants, and at backdrops. If you pre-book, you can often save a bit compared to purchasing onboard. I love having some proper family photos from our cruise!

Wi-Fi Packages

You’ll get complimentary access to the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app and iMessage-style chat for keeping in touch with your party. But if you want to use the internet properly—checking emails, social media, or browsing—you’ll need to purchase a Wi-Fi package. It’s not cheap, so it’s worth deciding in advance if you’ll need it.

Merchandise & Shopping

Not bookable in advance, but definitely something to budget for! The onboard shops have a range of exclusive Disney Cruise Line merchandise, including spirit jerseys, Loungefly bags, pins and more. Just a heads up—if you’re sailing from the UK, stock levels can vary throughout the cruise. If you see something you love, grab it early. You can always return it (unused and with tags) before the end of your sailing.
